U16's win against Ballyhea in championship
July 09, 2019
Killavullen, despite playing poorly by their own lofty standards, beat Ballyhea last Monday night, the 8th July in Ballyhea in the U16 B1 Division hurling championship, on a final score line of 0-21 to 2-07. Killavullen had powered past the same opposition in the semi-final of the league, but this was an altogether much tighter affair, with the concession of two goals by a normally tight Killavullen rear guard keeping Ballyhea very much in the game.
Killavullen were well served on the night by Sean Bartley, who was very good in the half back line and by Sean Palmer in midfield, while up front, Kian Lane and Conor Griffin were industrious. With this being the chief holiday seasons, Killavullen were grateful for their large panel, so as to fulfil the fixture.
Having been awarded a walk over previously by Dr. Pat O Callaghan’s, Killavullen now has 4 points and a break from hurling for a while, when the football championship takes precedence.
